The way Charles Oakley was treated (last month) at Madison Square Garden was disgraceful and embarrassing.
In no way, shape or form, should he have been treated in such a disrespectful manner.
As a player,he gave his blood for the Knicks, and to be treated like a criminal, is well, criminal. Former players should be treated as assets, like gold, especially when the Knicks are so downtrodden, the last thing that they need is bad press.
I was hurt when I saw the replay, having grown up watching the Oakley Knicks fight for us fans every night.
When Oakley was taken down, I felt myself going down with him.The Knicks should be embarrassed, and I have lost all respect for this pathetic organization.
I will no longer root for them.They owe Oakley a sincere public apology, and knowing him, he will turn the other cheek.
