CHARLES TOWN, West Virginia, CMC – In a remarkable display of skill, Barbadian jockey Reshawn Latchman emerged victorious on the eight-race card at Charles Town. His triumph came in the prestigious feature US$75 000 Its Binn Too Long Stakes, riding the 6-1 choice Overnight Pow Wow to a thrilling win.

In a 4-½ furlong sprint for the three-year-old West Virginia-breds on Saturday, Latchman guided the roan filly to a 1-¾ length score in a time of 52.25 seconds.

On a wet track in the southeast, 2-1 bet Jlodiamond and favorite Miss Bee Bop disputed the lead through the quarter in 21.94 seconds with Overnight Pow Wow, who survived a bump at the break, pressing the pace down on the inside just a head back.

Miss Bee Bop faded on the turn, leaving Overnight Pow Pow and Jlodiamond to battle it. Late on, Latchman got the best out of the filly, and she slowly pulled away.

For Overnight Pow Wow, the win was her second from three starts, pushing her earnings to nearly $ 67,000.

Latchman, who failed to place in his two other rides on the card, has logged 24 wins from 164 rides for the season, which began January 3 and ended December 14.
