MIAMI, United States, CMC – Guyana comfortably brushed aside Bermuda 2-0, but St Maarten registered the most comprehensive win on Saturday when they thrashed Bonaire 6-1 in the CONCACAF Nations League.

Second-half-goals in seven minutes from Liam Gordon and Jeremy Garrett inspired Guyana’s efforts at the Flora Duffy Sports Complex in Hamilton after the Group B, League B contest remained goalless at the break.

Gordon, a 23-year-old defender who plays with English League Two side Walsall, put the visitors ahead in the 52nd minute, tapping in from close range after Jonathan Grant whipped in a low cross headed on by Emery Welshman.

Grant was also involved in the second goal moments later, again putting in a cross from the right side, which the Bermuda defense failed to clear, allowing Garrett to pivot and score from eight yards out.

In the same group, Haiti produced a stellar second-half performance to punish hosts Montserrat after the game was deadlocked at nil-all at Blake’s Football Complex.

Bulgaria-based forward Duckens Nazon (49), Israel-based Frantzdy Pierrot (60), MLS star Derrick Etienne Jr (70), and Mondy Prunier (84) all got on the scoresheet.

The victory gave Haiti a five-point lead at the group’s top, with Guyana second, while Bermuda and Montserrat suffered elimination.

Meanwhile, 26-year-old Gerwin Lake – his country’s all-time leading goal-scorer – netted a hat-trick as St Maarten produced a second-half burst to crush Bonaire in Group A of League C.

Playing at home at the Bethlehem Soccer Stadium in St Croix, the hosts went ahead through Rogyear Michiel’s fifth-minute own goal before Lake added his first four minutes later to give his side a 2-0 lead at the half.

Chovanie Amatkarijo added a third almost immediately following the resumption before Lake (55), and T’Shawn Illidge (62) put the game beyond reach, despite Guillermo Montero’s 69th-minute strike for the visitors.

Six minutes later, the Netherlands-based Lake capped off a fine display by completing his hat trick.

In League A, Curacao suffered their third defeat in four outings to sit bottom of Group C, going down 2-0 to Canada at the Ergilio Hato Stadium through first-half goals from France-based Jonathan David and La Liga forward Cyle Larin.
