Trinidad is hoping for Indian based company to invest in the steel and energy sector.

PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad, CMC – Energy and Energy Industries Minister Stuart Young, Monday held talks with Naveen Jindal, the chairman of the Jindal Steel & Power (JSP), on the possibility of the Indian-based company investing in the energy and steel sectors here.

A statement issued following the talks said that Jindal, on his first visit to the country, “is recognized for transforming the company into an industrial powerhouse with a dominant presence in steel, power, mining and infrastructure sectors.

“Discussions surrounded the exploration of opportunities for investment in the energy and steel sectors for the benefit of Trinidad and Tobago,” the statement said, with Young expressing the hope that the visit would lead to “strengthening Trinidad and Tobago’s relationship with India through future projects with Jindal Steel & Power.”
