You have to VOTE, to make a difference

Readers, I have been driven to pen this article, because some reputable analysts and commentators are arguing that Hilary
Clinton lost last year November’s general election, because of two primary reasons–(i) her supporters, especially minorities did not go out to vote; and (ii) on the other hand, the white voters after two terms of President Obama, voted in large numbers to”take back their country” by going forTrump.
{One of the Out reach-leaders of the Democratic Party, SenatorBernie Sanders is undertaking to compare the fulfillment ofMr.Trump’s promises to variousAmerican communities, in order to bring any failings to the public’s attention.}
In the run-up to last year’s elections, I was fearful that because of over-confidence many
of Hilary’s supporters might not have turned up to the polls;hence I had written three articles urging her campaign to give greater concentration on getting out its voters.
Well in similar manner, I am reminding the waves of protesters(Harry Siegel refers to this group as”a group united more at this point by common fears than common ideas”); those recipients giving fiery speeches
at award ceremonies; the ones participating in rowdy townhall meetings that their actions and clamors would be meaningless, unless they VOTE for personnel who would advocate for their preferences and causes.
The same would be true for those who are joining in the SenateLeader–Chuck Schumer’s chants”to dump Trump”I would also like to remind newly-elected Chairman of theDemocratic Party-Tom Perez and his Deputy-Representative,Keith Ellison that boasting about a fifty-State strategy will amount to ZERO, if they cannot, and do not get their voters to the polling booths.
Messrs.Perez and Ellison alsohave to improve the fund-raisingapparatus of the DemocraticParty, because during the eight years that President Obama was in the White House, the RepublicanParty raised $227 million more than the Democratic
Party….That duo should also be seeking to take advantage of the48% negative-rating that an NBCNews/ Wall Street Journal poll reported that President Trump was experiencing.
Many are claiming that the current waves of protests and speaking-outs are following recipes that were left by theTea-Party, well the Tea-Party was successful, because they had big hands in choosing their Candidates, and insuring their elections to Office.
And voters have to learn that their votes cannot just be limited to voting for a President, but the votes have to straddle the House;the Senate; Governorships; StateLegislatures; and other decision making Entities.
The protesters and activists have to vote to give their Parties majorities in the House andSenate, because those majorities would enable their Parties to head Congressional Committees which could launch and conduct investigations, as well as preserve progressive initiatives, while determining Federal andSupreme-Court Judges who are committed to an equitable criminal justice system.
I could not put it any better than outgoing President Obama did while he was on the campaign trail last year, He often beckoned the crowds”Don’t boo, VOTE”.
WINNING is almost everything,(nearly everybody loves a winner)–just look at what happened after President Trump
won the elections, many of theNever/Anti–Trumpers, even the Millionaires and Billionaires rapidly sucked up to him, allowed themselves to be marched
around at the various Towers looking for Cabinet positions;Diplomatic postings; and CivilService considerations.
Those examples showed that in spite of how rich one is, there is still that hunger and thirst forPower; Influence; and Authority.
While activism, persistent resistance, peaceful-protests,and civil-disobedience continue to be useful tools for expressing disagreement and .opposition,REAL change can and
will only occur by finally casting the vote…I use the words finally casting, because at some polling centers, one has to endure a variety of circumstances, including standing for long hours inlines and producing specializedI.D. Cards before casting their ballots.
Some are calling the day-time and nocturnal protests-A MOMENT;others are calling them aMOVEMENT.
Whatever the stimuli or motivations, the protesters have to
transfer their enthusiasm intoVOTES.
TESTS of my contention will soon be here with us, because there are a few delicate special elections will soon be taking place.
CONCLUSION–One has
to be encouraged by what took place in Delaware on Saturday,February 25th when the DemocraticParty’s defeated her competitor by 16%, that victory also gave the Democrats the majority in that State’s Senate.
IN OTHER WORDS…
Some may fear
that it does appear
that Obama-care
is going nowhere.
