Caribbean American Social Workers Association, Inc. (CASWA)in collaboration with ChristopherRose Community Empowerment
Campaign, Inc. (CRCEC) observed Social Work Month onMarch 18, 2017 at Flatbush Gardens,Brooklyn, NY. This year’s theme – SOCIAL WORKERS
STAND UP Campaign is to bring awareness to communities of the invaluable contribution social workers bring to society in their various disciplines. In keeping with CASWA motto which is to embrace, educate and empower families in our communities CASWA forum highlighted the following topics: Caring for the Elderly by Beverly Lyons, Ph.D; Professor,Long Island University; EmpoweringWomen, by Rev. Denise Hylton; Child Welfare by President, Elsa Kum, LMSW, and Autism, by AlishaGriffith, Au.d; SMARTFITFAM
The information was well received by the community and CASWA will continue to effectively bridge the gap within communities by disseminatingParticipants at the CASWA meeting informational resources.
