Shaneen Angeles is a singer-songwriter born with a rare brain disease called AVM, typically referred to as a ticking time bomb; due to complications after treatment was unable to walk and talk, and after countless setbacks, Shaneen persevered as a Finalist for Miss Caribbean and Commonwealth representing Guyana and has not only been selected as Deputy Miss Caribbean and commonwealth but also won the Founders choice award.
And feels honored to represent Guyana and those currently facing trials, countless setbacks, and battling any form of health condition.
Shaneen Angeles had the opportunity to meet with the Guyana tourism authority in November at the world travel market and the Guyana high commissioner in London in December.
As a survivor, Shaneen Angeles has been selected as UK Ambassador to represent an LA-based foundation called “the Aneurysm & AVM foundation,” @taaf_org, where she looks to support people like herself by raising awareness as not all health conditions are visible.
Shaneen Angeles was invited into BBC London studios. She was featured in Britain’s only black national newspaper, “The Voice,” during black history month and would love an opportunity to share her story.
