CASTRIES, St. Lucia, CMC – Prime Minister Phillip J Pierre will lay in Parliament the Estimates of Revenue and Expenditure for the fiscal year 2024-2025 on Tuesday.

A government statement said that the presentation, by Prime Minister Pierre, who is also the Finance Minister, will include a detailed review of the government’s balance sheet for the financial year 2023-2024.

The statement said that Pierre had billed the upcoming fiscal package as the “Year of Infrastructure,” which heralds a wide range of government-backed investments in strategic capital projects and development programs.

It said these investments will modernize and revitalize public infrastructure and build capacity in the country’s human capital.

“The 2024-2025 Budget is fashioned from the needs and priorities of Saint Lucian citizens. It serves as the blueprint to construct a new economic pillar that supports the continuing development of our people and country,” the statement added.

It said the Estimates of Revenue and Expenditure debate will begin on Wednesday and conclude a day later.

Last year, the government presented to Parliament a fiscal package of EC$1.85 billion (One EC dollar=US$0.37 cents), the largest in the island’s history.
