THE FACTS1)
BROOKLYN has already lost more lives, especially Blacks, Latinos, and Jews to COVID-19, than any other borough in New York City.

2) BROOKLYN has the largest number of minorities (Blacks, Hispanics, and Jews) that are very vulnerable with a high incidence of underlying conditions (hypertension, diabetes, heart and kidney compilations).

3) MANHATTAN has six (6) hospital beds for every 1000 residents. Total population: 1.6 million.

4) Whereas BROOKLYN only has two (2) hospital beds for every 1000 residents. Total population: 2.7 million.

5) SCIENTISTS and MEDICAL DOCTORS report that there may be another spike in the number of cases due to the fast-spreading, more dangerous variant strains of the virus.

6) KINGS BROOK JEWISH HOSPITAL is a much-needed facility with 303 much-needed hospital beds and a staff of over 2000 employees, many of whom would be joining the unemployment lines during these already mentally and financially tough, COVIDIOUS-hard-times.

YET, OUR New York State Gov. ANDREW CUOMO and his group of ELITIST, CLUELESSLY UNCARING POLITICIANS (so-called leaders) in Albany and New York City, have set a date in early May 2021 to close this much-needed hospital, which would mean taking away much-needed beds (at least 200 would be eliminated) from a mostly low-income minority community with a large number of highly vulnerable human beings, who already suffer from underlying health conditions of poor health/morbidities.

THE ALTERNATIVE PLAN IS NOT A PEOPLE-CENTERED ONEThe proposed alternative plan dubbed, One Brooklyn Health System is nothing but a sound-good, moneymaking, quick fix initiative, which fails to substantively take all of the facts outlined above into reasonable and results-oriented consideration and analysis.

The One Brooklyn System is hardly about the needs and concerns of the people that matter most — the mothers, fathers, children, and working-class people of central Brooklyn, who were never really consulted or included in the decision-making process.
WE MUST save Kingsbrook Jewish Hospital — for the good of our poor and voiceless residents!
WE MUST get the unaffected and uncaring politicians in Albany NOT to CLOSE this essentially needed hospital with beds that our people need to take care of our sick mothers, father’s and children, as are the folks. In Manhattan and elsewhere!

TOGETHER WE ARE STRONGER; together we can, and together we must save our community’s Kingsbrook Jewish Hospital!
IF YOU CARE about the lives of our community residents in Crown Heights, Prospect Park, Lefferts Gardens, East Flatbush, Kensington, and Ditmas areas, then join the movement to get Gov. Cuomo to do the right thing: TO STOP THE PLAN TO CLOSE KINGS BROOK JEWISH HOSPITAL. The facility may need better management, but it is certainly much needed by the residents of central Brooklyn.

CALL the GOVERNOR’S OFFICE (212-681-4580)and let him know how you feel about this bad decision on his part.
ALSO, CALL all of our representatives in Albany and NYC Council to let them know that you are counting on them to apply pressure on Gov. Cuomo; and that if they don’t, you will NOT BE RE-ELECTING THEM in NOVEMBER.

AND VISIT this website, www.savekingsbrook.org, to learn about what else you can do to prevent the closure of Kingsbrook Jewish Hospital in central Brooklyn.

FORWARD EVER! BACKWARDS NEVER!
