WASHINGTON, CMC -The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) has launched the call for proposals for the Regional Public Goods (RPG) Initiative in Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC), which supports regional projects involving three or more countries.

The Washington-based financial institution said the RPG Initiative provides non-reimbursable financing for solutions to shared development challenges through regional cooperation among at least three IDB borrowing member countries. Since 2005, the RPG Initiative has financed an estimated US$150 million for more than 200 projects.

It said that the RPG Initiative would finance in 2023 regional coordination proposals aligned with one or more of the following four priority areas, namely education, and health to tackle poverty and inequality; food security, including access, production, and trade aspects; climate change mitigation and adaptation, and support to meeting Latin America and the Caribbean countries’ Paris Agreement goals; and regional integration in terms of sustainable physical and digital infrastructure to boost trade and productivity.

The IDB said that the proposals involving a gender and diversity focus would be positively valued and that all submissions must be submitted before 05:00 pm (US Eastern Standard Time) on May 22, 2023.
