BERLIN, Germany, CMC—Tourism officials have confirmed that Condor, The German airline, will resume operations in Antigua and Barbuda in November.

“We are excited about resuming the direct service from Condor next winter season. The German-speaking market is our second most important European market, and the flight acts as a major gateway, creating access from central Europe to Antigua,” said Colin C. James, the chief executive officer of the Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority (ABTA).

James, leading a delegation to the International Tourism Exchange (ITB Berlin), regarded as the world’s most extensive travel and tourism trade fair, said the weekly service would begin November 5, 2024, until May 6, 2025, from Frankfurt.

“We appreciate the efforts of our partners at ITB: Elite Island Resorts, Royalton, and Caribbean Beach Cottage, which represent ten properties in Antigua, as well as our sailing fraternity, KH+P, and Sailing Classics.

Through a collaborative effort and strong partnerships, we will make the flight successful and increase visitor numbers. Additionally, we are delighted that the service will end after Sailing Week, providing a seamless departure for our European sailors,” James added.

Antigua tourism officials expect this new, more extended flight schedule that now covers Sailing Week will ensure more German participation in the signature yachting event.

Condor is expected to use the new A330-900 aircraft, which can accommodate 310 passengers in 30 business class seats and 64 premium economy seats.

The ABTA said it would plan immediate robust sales and marketing activities to build further awareness of the new service and that a workshop will take place on March 19 for on-island partners to capitalize on the service.

It said tickets for the Condor flights go on sale from March 7.
