GRENADA-CARICHAM signs MoU with CaribNOG

ST. GEORGE’S, Grenada, CMC—The Caribbean Chambers of Industry and Commerce (CARICHAM) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Caribbean Network Operators Group (CaribNOG) to support the bolstering of cybersecurity and digital resilience in the Caribbean.

A joint statement issued following the signing here noted that the parties had recognized the pivotal role they both play in shaping the regional business and technology landscape.

CARICHAM chair Petipha Lewi and Brent McIntosh, CaribNOG technical services director, signed the agreement agreement.

“This memorandum of understanding reflects a shared vision of prioritizing digital innovation and capacity building, aligning seamlessly with the strategic priorities and regional development goals of both CARICHAM and CaribNOG,” Lewis said.

“Our collaboration is a testament to both organizations’ commitment to fostering a resilient and secure digital future for the Caribbean private sector,” McIntosh added.

Practices aim to develop and implement advocacy and capacity-building programs jointly, tailored to the needs of the Caribbean private sector.

“This collaboration will encompass a spectrum of activities, including joint research initiatives, awareness campaigns, capacity building workshops, and conferences,” the joint statement added.

It said that the partnership resulted from the commitments made by the respective organizations at the Connected Caribbean Summit last December.

Lewis and McIntosh expressed their enthusiasm for this partnership, emphasizing its potential to fortify businesses against emerging digital challenges.
