A HAND TO LIFT UP

When pulverized in the abyss of uncertainty
Walking this journey of faith Taking a gaze at a star Wondering about a syllable of encouragement
Lift him up
Searching the crowd for a smiling face An immigrant in a crowd sentenced to deportation
Challenged by monsoon and fair Indecision and doubt A hand to lift me up Perched on a dry limb with wounded wings
A brilliant song with a melody of hope Searching the skies for a silver line of hope
This inglorious journey surprised by volcanic awakening Transformed as a pillar on a mountain top
Removing the dross of despair and uncertainty
I seek a hand to lift up Uncertain that the hand might be mine
