TRINIDAD-Trinidad rattled by earthquakes on consecutive days.

PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad, CMC – An earthquake of 4.2 rattled several parts of Trinidad on Wednesday, but there were no immediate reports of injury or destruction.

The Seismic Research Centre (SRC) of the St. Augustine campus of the University of the West Indies (UWI) said that the tremor occurred at 9.03 am (local time) and was located at Latitude: 10.82N Longitude: 61.40W at a depth of 76 kilometers (km).

It said the quake was felt 21 km northeast of the capital Port of Spain, 24 km northwest of Arima, and 63 km north of San Fernando east of here.

The quake is the second to rattle the oil-rich twin island Republic in as many days.

SRC reported that an earthquake with a magnitude of 3.9 hit the country on Tuesday at 9.34 pm (local time) and occurred at Latitude: 10.92N and Longitude: 61.07W with a depth of 34 km

It was felt 56 km northeast of Port of Spain, 38 km northeast of Arima, and 46 km southwest of Scarborough in Tobago.
