GEORGETOWN, Guyana – Police are continuing investigations into the drowning deaths of two men on the Pomeroon River after their single-engine powered boat collided with a fishing vessel on Sunday night.

The police said the bodies of 29-year-old Devor Naughton and 18-year-old Sherwin Adolphus were recovered on Monday.

The bodies of the two cousins, Sherwin Adolphus and Devor Naughton, were found on Monday.

Police said the two men, cousins, were reportedly consuming alcoholic beverages on Sunday evening at a resort near the river.

Media reports said the cousins were heading home to Hackney along the Pomeroon River to celebrate Father’s Day when the accident occurred.

Relatives said Norton, a father of two, and Adolphus, a father of one, were always together, and the police said that the probe would continue into the circumstances that led to the deaths of the two gold miners.
