EUPEN, Belgium, CMC – Grenada international Regan Charles-Cook popped up with a late goal, but KAS Eupen was denied all three points in the seventh minute of injury time as they were held to a 4-4 draw by 10-man KV Oostende in a Belgian top-tier Pro League thriller on Saturday.

The 26-year-old winger, whose older brother Reice is a goalkeeper for English fifth-tier National League side Bromley, scored six minutes from time – his sixth goal of the campaign – to give the hosts the lead. Still, Mataj Rodin snatched a point with the last kick of the game, leaving Eupen 14th in the 18-strong league.

The visitors had been reduced to 10 men in 39 minutes when Anton Tanghe was sent off.

Charles-Cook, who inked a three-year deal when he moved to Belgium from Scottish Premiership club Ross County last June on a free transfer, has made four appearances for the Spice Boys since making his debut for the Caribbean side in 2021.

Former St Kitts and Nevis youth international Tyrese Shade netted his fourth campaign goal in England. Still, they could not prevent Swindon Town from going down 2-1 at home to English League Two high fliers Carlisle United at the County Ground.

The 22-year-old substitute looked to have salvaged a point for the hosts with a left-foot finish from midway inside the penalty area 10 minutes from time.

But Ryan Edmondson, who had been out since December with a shoulder injury, broke Swindon’s resolve to bolster second-place Carlisle’s automatic promotion hopes by heading in a corner with virtually the last touch of the game in the sixth minute of added time.

Earlier, Jack Armer came close to giving the visitors the lead, but his close-range effort was blocked on its way to the goal. However, the full-back made amends with a superb finish to break the deadlock six minutes into the second half.

Meanwhile, Reggae Boyz target Demarai Gray was denied his seventh goal for Premier League strugglers Everton after VAR ruled out the strike because of a handball.

The lively Gray, unlucky to have his goal chalked off, also saw a low shot saved by David Raya, and the Brentford goalkeeper kept out Alex Iwobi’s close-range effort from the resulting corner.

Dwight McNeil’s goal after 35 seconds was enough to earn Everton a priceless 1-0 victory over Brentford at Goodison Park to move out of the relegation zone, having started the day in 18th place.

Thomas Frank’s Brentford, who last lost in the Premier League back in October, looked to salvage something from the game but were not at their best, Reggae Boy Ethan Pinnock having a header cleared off the line by McNeil and Kevin Schade heading wide at the far post as their 12-match unbeaten run ended.

Chey Dunkley, a 31-year-old center-back and another Reggae Boyz target rounded out the scoring at Montgomery Waters Meadow as Shrewsbury Town made it five League One home wins in a row with a 3-1 victory over strugglers Morecambe.

First-half goals from Luke Leahy and Rob Street gave Steve Cotterill’s side the advantage before Dan Crowley pulled one back for the Shrimps in first-half stoppage time.

Morecambe was denied a leveler when Farrend Rawson’s 64th-minute header was ruled out for offside, and Dunkley completed the scoring with a title six minutes from time.
