Dear Sir,
I have been a teacher for several years; since retirement, I am now functioning as as a substitute-teacher.
After years of analyzing the school system, I have concluded that the system is broken, and is in need of immediate fixing.
This system displaces students displaces students from their local high schools, rather than facing the issues at hand.
This system treats students as if they are disposable persons.
The problem is not the teachers, the problem is not the administration, the problem is a system that allows students to do whatever they want to, by tying the hands of those who can do something about it.
Another part of the problem, is a system that treats education like a business, a system that focuses on numbers rather than realizing that we are dealing with teen agers.
Our system is broken, and we insist on blaming the adults running the buildings.
These adults are simply puppets that must do what the system wants them to do, in order to keep their jobs and reputation.
