DOMINICA-New Permanent Representative of Dominica to OAS presents credentials.

WASHINGTON, CMC – The Organization of American States (OAS) says the new Permanent Representative of Dominica, Steve Ferrol, presented his credentials to OAS Secretary General Luis Almagro on Friday.

“Dominica has partnered with the General Secretariat of the OAS in the organization’s four pillars,” said Almagro during a ceremony at OAS headquarters.

“In addition, we are particularly pleased with the work we have been able to accomplish in the field of development, specifically in tourism and trade expansion, environmental issues and climate change, and the promotion of democracy,” he added.

Ambassador Ferrol highlighted his country’s “long and productive relationship with the OAS” and added, “we remain committed to the values, activities, programs geared towards advancing democracy, human rights, security and development.”

Ambassador Ferrol, Dominica’s Ambassador to the United States, previously served as his country’s Cabinet Secretary, among other posts.
