CARIBBEAN- CARICOM to receive 50th-anniversary rum blends from thirteen members of the West Indies Rum & Spirits Producers’ Association

GEORGETOWN, Guyana, CMC—The Caribbean Community (CARICOM) will receive 50th-anniversary rum blends from thirteen West Indies Rum & Spirits Producers Association (WIRSPA) members.

The rum producers are planning handover ceremonies during June to the governments of the CARICOM Member States where they are based.

The rum industry’s contributions, a significant part of the yearlong celebration, mark the 50th anniversary of the Caribbean Community in a unique and memorable way.

The thirteen distillers are Mount Gay Distilleries and West Indies Rum Distillery, both in Barbados.

Demerara Distillers in Guyana; Suriname Alcoholic Beverages; Angostura in Trinidad and Tobago; Saint Lucia Distillers; Belfast Estate in Dominica; Antigua Distillery; Grenada Distillers; Travellers Liquors in Belize; Watlings Distillery in The Bahamas; National Rums of Jamaica and St. Vincent and the Grenadines Distillers.

The products showcased by regional rum producers will be distributed to CARICOM Member States, with some products available for sale in local markets.

Several of the special edition rums, unique in their blends and available in very limited quantities, offer a one-of-a-kind experience that can only be savored during this celebration.
