BELMOPAN, Belize, CMC—The Belize-based Caribbean Community Climate Change Centre (CCCCC) says it has made significant contributions over the past 19 years to improving the region’s flow, speed, and scale of climate finance.
“We will continue to work with regional institutions and our partners to deliver our mandate, and we will continue to assist member states of the community in mobilizing climate finance to improve the resiliency of people to the adverse effects of climate change,” said CCCCC executive director, Dr. Colin Young said as he spoke at a ceremony where the regional organization unveiled a new logo.
Young said that unveiling the new logo marks a significant milestone and another step in the CCCCC’s evolution. It is more than just a fresh look but “a renewed commitment to our vision of building a resilient and sustainable Caribbean region for all.
He told the ceremony on Monday that the CCCCC remains at the forefront of the battle against climate change, ensuring that CARICOM nations have the resources, data, and support to adapt effectively.
Since its establishment, the CCCCC has been at the forefront of regional efforts to reduce vulnerability and enhance resilience in CARICOM member countries. The officials say the rebranding comes at a pivotal time when addressing climate change has never been more critical for the region’s future.
“The rebranding we celebrate today is a testament to the City’s ability to adapt, innovate, and lead in the global climate arena,” said the chair of the C board of directors, Dr. Kenrick Williams, adding that the new logo embodies a more vital, more vibrant institution that remains at the forefront of Caribbean resilience efforts
“We believe this new look will not only inspire us but also strengthen the CCCCC’s influence, galvanizing further investment and support from regional and international partners,” Williams said.
The CCCCC said the revamped logo symbolizes its “dynamic and progressive” approach to addressing the climate crisis and reflects renewed energy, innovation, and focus as the CCCCC continues to lead efforts in climate change mitigation and adaptation across the Caribbean.
“Our core mission remains unchanged. We are here to empower our member states through science-based data-driven climate solutions, capacity building, and policy guidance,” said Danelle De Coteau-Campbell, Lead Communications Specialist at CCCCC.
“The new logo represents a fresh chapter in our journey. It embodies our commitment to innovative, decisive action as we address the region’s most urgent environmental challenges,” De Coteau-Campbell added.
