The grand opening will also include an all-day community open house featuring a DJ and offering local residents free blood-pressure screenings and giveaways.

“Access to a culturally-sensitive, community-based urgent care center is central to enhancing care and services for the Brown and Black communities of Central Brooklyn and critical to reducing health inequities,” said Dr. Aletha Maybank, Deputy Commissioner of the Center for Health Equity at the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. “I congratulate Big Apple Walk-In Urgent Care on their opening, and look forward to them becoming a neighborhood asset in supporting the health of Central Brooklyn and beyond.”

“We’re proud to offer accessible and quality health care to the East Flatbush and the greater Brooklyn community. In East Flatbush, one in seven residents goes without needed medical care due to their financial situation. We believe that a family’s economic status should not determine their medical wellbeing. At Big Apple Urgent Care the patient comes first,” said Dr. Tamara Moise, co-founder and Medical Director of BAUC. “We know going to the doctor can be a stressful experience for patients. Our staff of medical professionals understands the unique needs of the East Flatbush community, and our facility is equipped to address most ailments that a patient may experience. We want to be the hub for supporting the health and wellness of our neighbors.”

The fully renovated medical center features six exam rooms, state-of-the-art equipment including an on-site x-ray, and a team of multilingual healthcare professionals fluent in Creole and Medical Spanish. The medical staff and facility are equipped to handle all kinds of medical needs such as employment physicals, minor illness and injury, immunizations, and lab work.

The center is located at 3805 Church Ave., Brooklyn NY 11203 (between E. 38th St. & E. 39th St.) and is conveniently located near the 2 and 5 trains. Most insurances are accepted, and walk-ins are welcome. To learn more about Big Apple Urgent Care, please visit www.bigappleurgentcare.com.
