PORT AU PRINCE, Haiti, CMC – The Princess of Jordan, Sarah Zeid, who is the Senior Special Advisor to the World Food Program (WFP), is on an official humanitarian mission to Haiti.
On Wednesday, Haitian Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé met with the Princess. During their discussions, he reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to improving the living conditions of the population, despite the particularly challenging circumstances.
He also discussed the measures implemented to strengthen the protection of the most vulnerable populations, especially women and children.
Discussions focused on strengthening cooperation between Haiti and the WFP, particularly in maternal and child health, within a humanitarian context marked by significant challenges.
The United Nations Resident Coordinator in Haiti, Nicole Boni Kouassi, and the WFP Country Director in Haiti, Wanja Kaaria, also participated in the meeting.
Forbin commended Her Royal Highness’s commitment to humanitarian causes, particularly maternal and neonatal health, and reaffirmed the Haitian government’s commitment to strengthening this strategic collaboration for the benefit of the most vulnerable populations.
During her official visit to Haiti, the Princess participated in a high-level strategic meeting that brought together national and international figures committed to peace, development, and the protection of women, as well as to supporting victims of violence.
Discussions focused on two main areas: supporting feminist organizations and the sustainable restoration of peace in Haiti.
