PARAMARIBO, Suriname, CMC- The state-owned oil and gas company, Staatsolie, says it will host an “Open-Door Offering Roadshow” in the United States later this month as it seeks to attract new investors to Suriname’s offshore acreage, which is estimated to hold more than 30 billion barrels of oil equivalent.
Staatsolie said the event will be held in Texas on May 26 and that it “welcomes international investors to explore new opportunities in one of the world’s most prolific hydrocarbon basins.”
In November last year, Staatsolie launched its Open-Door Offering to attract new investors to Suriname’s offshore acreage, noting that approximately 60 percent of the Dutch-speaking Caribbean Community’s (CARICOM) offshore acreage is offered to oil and gas companies to explore a wide range of exploration opportunities, from shallow waters to deep offshore.
It told investors that of the world-class reservoirs with multiple proven source rocks, extension of the Golden Lane, a billion-barrel field onshore, high-quality, low-cost, low-carbon resources.
Staatsolie outlined attractive fiscal terms within a stable fiscal regime and a competitive, investor-friendly business environment.
It also spoke of low above-ground risks with a politically stable and secure environment, minimal entry risks for investors, efficient contract execution and permitting processes, and an emerging service industry.
“Under the Open-Door Offering, Staatsolie has improved fiscal and contractual terms and lowered entry barriers for oil and gas companies with continuous access to data, while ensuring a transparent and straightforward application process.”
Staatsolie said that during the event later this month, senior representatives will present the basin’s opportunities and the terms for participation.
