On Friday, KINGSTON, Jamaica– The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) promised a “thorough investigation” into the death of Corporal Oliver Mullings, the second police officer to be shot and killed in less than a week.

In a statement, the JCF said that Mullings was among a team of officers who responded to a call from residents in the Kingston Western Police Division area when shooters attacked them.

“The JCF is committed to conducting a thorough investigation and to apprehend the persons responsible for his death,” the JCF said, expressing condolences to the family, colleagues, and friends of the slain Corporal.

The JCF said that its Chaplaincy Branch and Welfare Department would be providing support to the family members, colleagues, and friends of Mullings, the second law enforcement officer to be gunned down in less than a week.

Last Saturday, 22-year-old Constable Brian Martin was shot dead at a wake in Kingston. Four other people were shot and injured in the incident.
