LONDON, CMC – Swansea City has signed Reggae Boy Jamal Lowe on a season-long loan in a surprise deadline-day move.
The 29-year-old striker was one of four players picked up by the Welsh club on Friday, with Josh Tymon, Kristian Pedersen, and Bashir Humphreys all putting pen to paper.
“I’m thrilled with the additions,” said Swansea City chairman Andy Coleman.
“It looks like it all comes down to the last few minutes but a tonne of hard work that goes into the eight weeks before that.”
The signing brings Lowe to the Swans for the second time in his career. The first time around, he netted 14 goals in 58 appearances to help propel the club to the 2021 Championship play-off final, where they lost to Brentford.
He had joined them from Wigan Athletic in a deal worth 800,000 pounds sterling.
Lowe spent a year at the Swans before moving to Championship side Bournemouth on a three-year deal but lacked playing time in the side, which won promotion to the Premier League, and subsequently spent most of his time out on loan at Queen’s Park Rangers.
Lowe scored on his debut for Jamaica two years ago but has not played since last September’s friendly international against Argentina.
