AHMEDABAD, India, CMC – West Indies all-rounder Jason Holder captured his second successive Player-of-the-Match award as his Gujarat Titans beat Punjab Kings by four wickets in a thrilling contest here on Sunday.
Holder ran through the Kings’ middle order with his medium pace, snaring 4-24 from four overs to restrict them to 163 for nine in their 20 overs at the Narendra Modi Stadium.
He had Nehal Wadhera caught behind for a duck and bowled Shreyas Iyer for 19 to see the Kings slump to 47 for five in the ninth over.
Holder then returned to grab the wickets of Marcus Stoinis for 40 and Xavier Bartlett with successive deliveries in the 18th over.
Opener Sai Sudharsan then hit 57 off 41 balls, and Washington Sundar scored an unbeaten 40 off 23 balls, as the Titans got up to 167 for six with one ball remaining in the contest.
