KINGSTON, Jamaica, CMC—GraceKennedy CEO Don Wehby has announced his resignation from the Senate, effective Thursday. This follows a recent announcement regarding his temporary leave of absence from Grace Kennedy for health reasons.

In a letter to Prime Minister Dr Andrew Holness, Wehby conveyed his gratitude for the opportunity to serve under the Prime Minister’s leadership.

“Thank you for the trust placed in me throughout my years of service. My tenure as a senator under your leadership since 2016 has been a deeply fulfilling experience. It has been an honor to contribute to the nation’s progress, and I am grateful for the opportunities I have had to serve our country in such a meaningful capacity.”

Wehby also shared his hopes for a unified approach to addressing Jamaica’s national challenges, adding, “I hope that the government, opposition, and private sector will be unified in purpose as we continue to tackle the challenges we face as a country.”

Reflecting on his extensive public service, Wehby expressed, “It has been one of the greatest honors of my life to serve Jamaica.”

He also reaffirmed his dedication to Jamaica: “My commitment to Jamaica remains unwavering, and you can continue to count on my full support in any way that might further our nation’s interests.”
