BERBICE, Guyana, CMC – Olympic Kremlin, the crown jewel of Slingerz Stables, was crowned Horse of the Year at Friday’s prestigious One Guyana Thoroughbred Racing Awards.

The Brazilian-bred sensation capped off a flawless 2024 season with the honor of cementing its legacy as one of Guyana’s most dominant thoroughbreds.

The champion’s unbeaten run included commanding victories in the President’s Cup, Guyana Cup, and Showdown of Champions, leaving no doubt about its supremacy on the track.

Slingerz Stables owner Javed Ali was beaming with pride as he declared that the latest accolade is just the beginning of big things to come.

“We’re doing it all over again this year. Our goal is to compete internationally this year, and I’m confident Olympic Kremlin will hold its own against the best in the Caribbean,” Ali said.

Olympic Kremlin’s journey to stardom began in Brazil, where it was bred and quickly rose through South America’s competitive racing circuit ranks.

Acquired by Slingerz Stables, the horse brought its signature explosive speed and unmatched endurance to Guyana, where it seamlessly adapted to the local racing scene. Its 2024 campaign was spectacular, as it swept every primary race and solidified its reputation as the nation’s top thoroughbred.
