GUYANA-President Ali on an official visit to the Dominican Republic

GEORGETOWN, Guyana, CMC – President Dr. Irfaan Ali is due in the Dominican Republic on Tuesday for an official one-day visit as the two countries seek to strengthen their bilateral relations.

Ali will meet with President Luis Abinader, and the two leaders will talk at the National Palace.

The official agenda includes an extended meeting of both delegations, following which the two leaders will hold a ceremony to sign instruments and a joint declaration.

They will also hold a private lunch at the National Palace.

Foreign Minister Roberto Álvarez and Tourism, Commerce, and Industry Minister, Oneidge Walrond, will co-chair a business meeting with the discussions centered on energy, agriculture, tourism sectors, and construction, among others.

The two countries established diplomatic relations in 1970.
