GUYANA– Compton Bourne to serve as Guyana’s new Ambassador to Brazil

On Thursday, GEORGE, Guyana, CMC—The Brazilian Government appointed Compton Bourne as the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Cooperative Republic of Guyana in Brazil.

Bourne has actively contributed to public economic policy in the Caribbean, Africa, and the Philippines.

He graduated from the University of London, the University of Birmingham, and the University of the West Indies.

Bourne’s intellectual prowess is evident in his literary achievements. He has authored 10 books, published over 50 academic articles, and provided more than 50 research reports and advisory memoranda for Various governments and international development institutions and agencies, showcasing his commitment to knowledge sharing.

He is a member of the Order of Excellence, the highest honor of the Republic of Guyana, and has received several awards for his outstanding contribution to the development of the Caribbean
