PORT-OF-SPAIN, Trinidad, CMC – In an exciting development for Trinidad and Tobago football, Dwight Yorke is expected to be announced as the new head coach for the Soca Warriors in the coming days.
Yorke and the Trinidad and Tobago Football Association have reportedly agreed on all terms, marking a significant step for both parties.
The former Manchester United star and Trinidadian football legend was one of five candidates shortlisted for the position, alongside interim head coach Derek King.
The 52-year-old Yorke brings a wealth of experience, both as a player and as a manager. His most recent role was as head coach of Australian A-League side Macarthur FC, where he gained valuable experience on the sidelines.
Yorke’s football career includes 74 appearances for Trinidad and Tobago between 1989 and 2009, a testament to his long-standing dedication to his national team.
He rose to prominence with Manchester United but played for top English clubs, including Aston Villa, Blackburn Rovers, Birmingham City, and Sunderland.
