
LONDON, England, CMC – Queens Park Rangers have completed the signing of promising 21-year-old forward Justin Obikwu from Coventry City, bolstering their attacking options with a player already boasting international experience.
The Trinidad and Tobago international, who has earned four senior caps in World Cup qualifiers and friendlies, arrives on a permanent deal after impressing during loan spells in the Football League.
Despite not breaking into Coventry’s first team, Obikwu proved his goalscoring credentials elsewhere. Most recently, a stint at Lincoln City this season yielded three goals in 21 appearances.
The previous campaign saw him enjoy a prolific spell at Grimsby Town, where he found the net 10 times in 38 matches, showcasing the form that attracted QPR’s attention.
Speaking to the club’s media, an elated Obikwu expressed his eagerness for this new chapter.
“I’m delighted,” he said. “I’m thrilled and very excited to get started. When I heard the name QPR, my ears sprang up.”
“It’s a new chapter in the journey,” he added. “I think everything that’s been described to me, from the staff to the fans, the stadium, and the training ground, everything about it aligns with my development and where I want to be.”
