MANCHESTER, England, CMC – Manchester City superstar Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw has admitted she would prefer to stay at the club following a hugely successful season.

The Jamaican international’s contract with City expires next month, but talks have reportedly stalled concerning a new deal.

However, reports have suggested that Chelsea are the frontrunners to sign the prolific forward, with the London club willing to pay her a 1 million pounds a year.

“I’ve always said Manchester is my home, it’s where I want to be, but there are a lot of things that go on behind the scenes that I won’t talk about now, but I’ve always been proud of all the girls and everything,” Shaw told Sky Sports.

“Manchester is where I would want to be, but ultimately, we’ll see.

“A lot of emotions, it’s been a long season, grind, hard work. We have ups and downs, but we live for these, and I can’t wait to celebrate. It’s been a long season, I’ve always tried to do the best I can, the players I have around me make me look good,” she added.

The 29-year-old won her third consecutive Golden Boot after scoring 21 goals in 22 appearances, while leading City to their first Women’s Super League (WSL) title in a decade.

She also won the WSL Player of the Season for a second time on Monday and the Football Writers Association Player of the Year award earlier this month.

Shaw, who joined City from Bordeaux in 2021, has registered 117 goals in 137 appearances, being the only player in the club’s history to surpass 100 goals in all competitions.
