LONDON – Jonson Clarke-Harris, an England-born Jamaican, bagged a brace as Peterborough climbed off the bottom of the English Championship table with a come-from-behind 3-1 victory at Queens Park Rangers on Sunday.

QPR took the lead on nine minutes when Luke Amos swept a shot into the corner after running unchallenged to the edge of the 18-yard box.

But 27-year-old striker Clarke-Harris lashed home a rebound to level six minutes before the break and then scored from the penalty spot on 53 minutes after Jimmy Dunne tripped Joe Ward – his fourth goal in three matches and ninth of the campaign.

Jack Marriott rifled a third into the top corner as Peterborough – nicknamed Posh – beat QPR for a third time this season.

Peterborough’s first win in 16 league games – and first since beating QPR on February 5 in round four of the FA Cup – lifted them above Derby County into 23rd place, seven points from safety.

Peterborough head coach Grant McCann said: “I’m pleased we got back into the game, good goal by Jonson, and we spoke at half-time about going for the next one, and we managed to get that through a penalty.”

In the Scottish Premiership, Reggae Boy Kemar Roofe had a hand in both goals as Rangers hit back to beat bottom club Dundee 2-1 and remain three points behind leaders Celtic.

Rangers fell behind on Christie Elliot’s sixth-minute strike before James Tavernier missed a penalty for the visitors.

But Aaron Ramsey’s first goal for the club provided the equalizer, turning the ball in from two yards after substitute Roofe’s header was saved by goalkeeper Ian Lawlor.

Centre-back Connor Goldson struck the winner on 86 minutes, sweeping home after another Roofe effort was blocked.
