BARBADOS-Daughter of government legislator on drug-related charges

BRIDGETOWN, Barbados, CMC – The 21-year-old daughter of a Barbados government legislator will return to court on February 7 after she was charged with several drug-related charges on Tuesday.

Tonnel Rowe was granted BNDS$75,000 (one Barbados dollar=US$0.50 cents) bail when she appeared before Magistrate Carolyn Ward Sargeant in the District B Magistrates’ Court.

The daughter of government legislator Neil Rowe is facing multiple charges including trafficking, possession, supply, and importation of marijuana and money laundering.

According to police, the weight of the suspected cannabis is 30.45 kilograms, valued at $BDS243,600.

Senior Counsel Michael Lashley told reporters that Rowe would return to court on February 20 and make another appearance on May 7.
