BROOKLYN, NY– Jay Emmanuel-Thomas, a 31-year-old striker eligible to play internationally for St Lucia or Dominica, is looking for a new club after being released by a Scottish Premiership outfit Aberdeen less than 12 months into his two-year contract at Pittodrie.
London-born Emmanuel-Thomas, whose mother is St Lucian and father Dominican, had not featured since manager Jim Goodwin’s arrival and had not been named in the squad for the previous six games and has now been jettisoned.

“All at Aberdeen FC wish Jay the very best in his future career,” a club spokesman said.

Last May, signed by previous boss Stephen Glass from Scottish rivals Livingston, he made just 12 starts, scoring once.

On Saturday, Goodwin vowed to overhaul the squad after his side failed to reach the Scottish Premiership top six for the first time since 2014.

Meanwhile, Bermuda midfielder Reggie Lambe scored with a thumping 40-yard strike in 15 minutes to inspire promotion-chasing Stowmarket Town to a 2-1 victory at Witham Town in England’s seventh-tier Isthmian League North.

It was 31-year-old Lambe’s eighth goal of the season.

Lambe’s compatriot, Willie Clemons, did not play as he is serving a two-game suspension, having netted his 10th goal of the campaign in the club’s 1-1 draw in their previous match at home Maldon & Tiptree.
