TORONTO, Canada, CMC – Veteran Barbadian riders Juan Crawford and Christopher Husbands and unheralded fellow countryman Desean Bynoe produced intense rides to taste success on Sunday’s 12-race card at Woodbine racetrack.

Crawford, 44, won race two over seven furlongs with a 5-1 chance Rookie Radar while Husbands, 32, captured the CAN$111 600 race ten aboard a 9-1 bet Piper’s Factor.

The 20-year-old Bynoe, in only his third year on the Canadian circuit, combined with 4-1 choice That Girl Artemus to win race seven over six furlongs.

Crawford has 13 wins from 155 rides at Woodbine, while Husbands, who campaigns at Fort Erie, has five wins from 40 outings here.

Meanwhile, Bynoe’s winner was his sixth in 88 appearances.

Crawford was first to the winners’ enclosure when he paired with the five-year-old gelding Rookie Radar to win a $40 200 claim.

Up against the three-year-olds and upward, Rookie Radar survived an awkward break and stalked the leaders before rallying in the stretch to snatch the lead and get to the wire three lengths clear.

Husbands’ success came when he guided the bay colt Piper’s Factor to a two-length score over the two-year-old maidens.

Piper’s Factor set the pace and lost the lead at the nine-sixteenth before surging again to take the lead for good late on.

Bynoe’s score was also impressive, outlasting favorite and pacesetter Hayek to beat the two-year-old maiden fillies by 1-¾ lengths and win a $65 000 maiden optional claiming.
