EDMONTON, Alberta, CMC – The Barbadian trio of N’Rico Prescod, Kyle Carter, and Kemar Chase showcased their exceptional skill and strategic prowess, riding winners to make a significant impact on Friday’s seven-race card at Century Mile.

Prescod, Carter, and Chase triumphed in fiercely competitive races, with Prescod winning the CAN$14 500 race three with favorite Mob Boss, Carter capturing the $25 000 race four with 4-1 Harbor Dancer, and Chase taking the $20 500 race five with 3-1 choice Northern Jewel.

While Prescod and Carter have already logged two winners for the season, which began May 4, Chase’s win was a moment of great joy and pride, marking his first victory at the Western Canada oval this campaign.

Prescod set the tone for the Barbadian effort when he combined with five-year-old bay gelding Mob Boss to turn back the three-year-olds and upward in a five-furlong sprint.

The pair dueled early on with Trinidadian Keihton Natera’s 5-1 bet Behind the Curtain before driving clear in the stretch and reaching the wire two lengths clear to win handsomely.

Carter followed up in another 5-½ furlong dash, making all the running with bay gelding Harbor Dancer to dismiss the three-year-old maidens by three lengths.

Harbor Dancer tangled early on with Cape’s Legacy before establishing a clear lead, leaving the backstretch, and was the apparent winner in the stretch even though favorite Northern Force chased late on.

Chase capped off a successful day for the Caribbean nation when he carried the four-year-old dark bay gelding Northern Jewel to a stunning nine-length score.

Up against the three-year-olds and upward in a 6-½ furlong trip, Chase stalked the early leaders before picking up the running following the turn and then dominating the latter stages.
