PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad, CMC – The US Embassy in Trinidad and Tobago has put Americans on alert, telling them to avoid visiting US facilities in the twin-island republic during this Divali weekend.
“Due to a heightened state of alert, please avoid and refrain from visiting all US government facilities in Trinidad and Tobago through the holiday weekend,” it stated in a security alert on Saturday.
US nationals have also been advised to be aware of their surroundings, monitor reputable news outlets, and report any suspicious activity to local authorities.
