Barbados has fully reopened its airspace after a temporary closure caused by an air traffic controller sickout, with normal operations resuming at Grantley Adams International Airport following urgent government-union talks

BRIDGETOWN, Barbados, CMC – Operations at the Grantley Adams International Airport (GAIA) are now returning to normal after the country’s airspace was closed early Saturday.

A statement from GAIA said the airport reopened at 2:30 p.m (local time).

It’s reported that the disruption was linked to industrial action.

Passengers have been advised to check with their respective airlines for updates on flight status and timing.
