Have you ever missed, a New York miss?

Oh how I have missed so many misses.

I trot down the stairs

And there goes my train.

Got at least 5 minutes to wait,

Before another comes again.

I ran around hurriedly,

As I grumbled and fuss.

Oh my Stop! Please Wait!

There goes my bus.

All the misses, I endure everyday

As I go about my merry way.

Have you ever wondered how precise

This city really is?

Got to always be on the ball.

And hit the nail exactly on the head.

Got to find that hole in the needle’s eye.

And to thread very precisely

Within that microscopic space.

Miss the needle’s eye,

And end up like me.

Oh how I always miss,

So many misses in a day.

How did I end up this way?

You know I wonder, is it me?

Or is it everyone else?

Or maybe it’s just this big city!

Then I go into a daze because,

It all happens so fast.

Before I even recognize it,

Yet another day has passed.

Another day of pace,

Another day of pressure & pursuit.

As we coexist, in the city of dreams.

Life is kind of slippery eh?

Or does it seem?
