SALFORD, England, CMC – Following their thrilling Horizon Series win over England, Jamaica’s Sunshine Girls have risen to 3rd place in the latest World Netball rankings released on Thursday.

Among the 30 positional shifts in the rankings, Jamaica and New Zealand made the most notable strides, overtaking England in the top four.

In another shift at the summit, New Zealand reclaimed the 2nd spot after defeating Australia in the Constellation Cup. Despite their loss, Australia remains at the top of the rankings with 204 points, though their lead has narrowed to just 12 points over the Silver Ferns.

The rankings update also highlights the sport’s expanding reach, with four new teams entering the list. India debuted at 41st, British Virgin Islands at 45th, and Chinese Taipei and the Maldives tied for 50th. This growth brings the number of ranked teams to 52, eight more than in 2023.

The Battle of the Saints tournament had a notable impact, with the Caribbean nation of St. Maarten climbing to 30th after its unbeaten run. Trinidad & Tobago remains in 11th position, followed by Barbados in 16th place. St. Vincent comes next in 17th place, with Grenada rounding out the top 20.
