UTICA, New York, CMC – Jamaica and the U.S. Virgin Islands are poised to take the international stage by storm at the sixth edition of the Men’s World Lacrosse Box Championship, set to unfold from September 20-29 in Utica, New York.

The tournament, which has grown into a significant showcase of the fast-paced and hard-hitting indoor version of lacrosse, will feature over 600 athletes across 28 teams competing in seven pools.

Jamaica will feature in Pool D alongside European powerhouse Czechia, who has consistently ranked in the top ten in every tournament edition, including a seventh-place finish in 2019.

The Jamaicans must contend with Scotland and newcomers Chinese Taipei, who round out Pool D.

Meanwhile, Pool E will see the U.S. Virgin Islands (USVI) make their World Lacrosse debut in any format. They will be up against formidable European opposition, including the Netherlands and Austria, two teams with seasoned squads.

The Netherlands finished eighth in 2019 and will aim to build on that success, while Austria, which placed 14th in the last edition, also has plenty of experience. Fresh off a top-ten finish at the 2023 men’s field lacrosse championship, Italy adds another layer of difficulty for the USVI.
