KINGSTON, Jamaica, CMC -Police say they are continuing their investigations into the death of the acting deputy commissioner of the Department of Correctional Services, Reverend Orville Moore, after a postmortem Monday showed that he had died from strangulation.

“Our investigation is not closed. We have not seen any evidence that there was any third party traveling with him, or there is no reason to have any suspicion that there was any third party at the location,” said Deputy Commissioner of Police Fitz Bailey.

Media reports said that Moore’s family had requested that an independent pathologist be present for the postmortem after his body was found in a ravine on June 1, a few days after being reported missing.

The body was found beside the wreckage of his motor vehicle in what police say appears to have been an accident, and DCP Bailey noted that the investigations were ongoing.

“We are appealing to anyone from the public who has any information to call us and share that information,” he said.
