KINGSTON, Jamaica, CMC – The Ministry of Education says Guidance Counsellors will support students and staff of the Corporate Area-based Pembroke Hall Primary School on Thursday.
This follows an incident in which the school’s security guard was murdered.
The police reported that when students arrived on campus early Wednesday, they found the guard, Owen Gardner, 62, beside his vehicle.
The students initially thought he was sleeping but later discovered that he had what appeared to be bullet wounds.
An alarm was raised, and the police were summoned.
Classes were dismissed for the day as the authorities started their probe into the incident.
The police theorize that Mardner was shot and killed between 10:30 pm (local time) on Tuesday and 6:50 Wednesday morning.
