PORT AU PRINCE, CMC – The Ministry for the Status of Women, on Friday, has condemned the murder of a 19-year-old university student, whose body was found at a clinic in Pétion-ville, a commune and a suburb of the capital, Port-au-Prince, on Monday.
In a statement, the Government Commissioner said that, at its request, it has since taken over the case of Neissa Tima, a financial management student at Quisqueya University.
According to her parents, injuries were visible on her body, and the clinic indicated she had died before arriving.
The Ministry for the Status of Women said that an autopsy has been ordered and a travel ban has been issued, both considered essential measures to ensure the availability of those involved and to preserve the integrity of the investigation.
