PORT AU PRINCE, Haiti, CMC—The government of Haiti has announced Christine Lamothe’s appointment as the new Chargé d’Affaires of the Embassy of Haiti in the neighboring Dominican Republic.
Ambassador Lamonthe, a seasoned diplomat with six years of service at the Haitian Embassy in Brazil, has taken over the role from Luc Garvey Jean-Pierre.
While in Brazil, she held various high-responsibility positions, and in 2021, she was transferred to the Haitian diplomatic mission in Santo Domingo.
Lamothe completed much of her secondary studies in the Dominican Republic until she departed for Mexico with her father, Guy Lamothe, who was appointed Ambassador of Haiti to Mexico.
While in Mexico, she pursued studies in international relations and specialized in immigration issues and organizational administration.
With her new appointment, Lamothe is determined to foster a stronger diplomatic relationship between the two Nations, a move that holds promise for the future.
