GEORGETOWN, Guyana, CMC – In recognition of his leadership in developing and advancing the Caribbean Community (CARICOM), the President of Guyana, Dr Irfaan Ali, has been named the Caribbean Global Leader for 2024.
The Caribbean Global Awards announced, “After a meticulous analysis and a record-breaking 609 valid votes cast by the public, Guyana’s President, Dr. Mohamed Irfaan Ali, has been recognized as the Caribbean Global Leader in the People’s Choice category.”
Ali topped the list of ten leaders from across the Caribbean, with Barbados Prime Minister Mia Mottley copping the second spot.
The other leaders are Dickon Mitchell, the Prime Minister of Grenada; Andrew Holness, the Prime Minister of Jamaica; Terrance Michael Drew, the Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis; Ralph Gonsalves, the Prime Minister of St Vincent and the Grenadines; Philip Davis, the Prime Minister of the Bahamas; Keith Rowley, the Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago; Gaston Browne, the Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda; and Sylvanie Burton, the Dominica President.
According to the Caribbean Global Leader, each leader demonstrated “remarkable” dedication to their nations and the wider Caribbean.
The release stated, “Their vision, commitment, and tireless efforts have significantly contributed to the region’s progress and prosperity.”
The Caribbean Global Awards celebrates excellence and leadership in the Caribbean region.
The award recognizes individuals and organizations making a significant contribution to the advancement and development of the Caribbean Community.
