LONDON, CMC – Experienced Reggae Boy Anthony Grant has joined struggling English League Two side Crawley Town for the remainder of the season.

The 35-year-old free agent spent three years at Swindon Town, where Crawley’s current manager Scott Lindsey was in charge, before a recent spell at fifth-tier National League side Scunthorpe United.

“I’m pleased to have signed Anthony,” Lindsey told the Crawley website.

“He’s a real combative midfield player with vast experience.”

UK-born Grant has played six times for Jamaica since making his debut in 2021 in a World Cup qualifier, losing 2-1 to Mexico. Earlier, he represented England at the Under-16, Under-17, and Under-19 youth levels.

A product of Chelsea’s academy, Grant had the most prolonged spell of his career at Southend United, where he played almost 150 games over four seasons after joining them aged 21.

“He can also play as a defender, so we’re pleased to have him on board,” added Lindsey, whose side sits one place above the relegation zone.

“With the injuries we’ve sustained of late, he will add to our numbers.”

Grant has also had spells with Shrewsbury Town, Oldham Athletic, Wycombe Wanderers, Crewe Alexandra, Port Vale, Luton Town, Stevenage, and Peterborough United.
