FOOTBALL-CARIBBEAN-Poleon nets the second brace, but Ebbsfleet loses.

LONDON, CMC – Dominic Poleon scored his second brace in three days in his 100th appearance for Ebbsfleet United. However, the St Lucia international remained frustrated as the visitors went down 3-2 at Barnet.

The 29-year-old, who made his international debut for the Caribbean side last year, netted in the 21st and 68th, but a Nicke Kabamba hat-trick sunk the visitors at the Hive Stadium in north London on Monday night.

For Ebbsfleet, the defeat came on the back of a 3-0 thrashing of Kidderminster last Saturday and left them eighth in the National League standings on nine points, while Barnet moved into second on 13 points, one behind leaders Solihull Moors.

Poleon opened the scoring when he finished off a move started by Ben Chapman to notch his 62nd goal for the club. And that lead held until deep in first-half stoppage when Kabamba produced a stooping header to equalize.

The second half was a thrilling affair. Barnett went ahead in the 61st thanks to Kabamba’s close-range strike before Poleon responded minutes later, driving Darren McQueen’s cross past goalkeeper Laurie Walker.

Ebbsfleet appeared poised to earn a point from the contest until Kabamba proved the spoiler yet again, clinically finishing off a Barnet counter-attack.

Poleon has scored six in five goals this season, including a double against Kidderminster.

At York Community Stadium in the north, Tyrese Sinclair, whose father Frank was a member of the historic Jamaica side that qualified for the 1998 World Cup, converted two penalties to help Rochdale to a 3-1 win over 10-man York City.

The 22-year-old Sinclair scored from the spot in the 36th and 53rd minutes, his strikes sandwiching Adam Crookes’s headed goal deep in first-half stoppage, which left the game tied 1-1 at the break.

Ian Henderson put the finishing touches on the win late with his third campaign goal.
